Does your family like fresh fruit and vegetables? How about picking your own fresh fruit and vegetable? If you answered yes to one or both of those questions, and you live in central Maryland, you might want to check out Larriland Farms this summer. It is about an hour drive from Baltimore.
At Larriland you can pick all types of fruits and vegetables. There are peaches, apples, blackberries, grapes, all sorts of tomatoes, potatoes and more depending on the time of year you visit. The yellow peaches happen to be a favorite of my family.
The picking area of the farm consists of numerous sections for the various items with ample parking at each. Employees gives directions and tips for picking and you pay at each stop for what you pick. Everything is measured by the pound.
When you’ve had your share of picking for the day you can stop by the big red barn. There they sell predicted fruits and vegetables which usually includes items not pickable by customers. Also available are drinks, baked goods and more. My son loves the dried fruit sticks.
Outside the barn you can pick a variety of fresh flowers.
You can spend an entire day at the farm. Just be sure to pack your sunscreen, water and snacks, and you might want to where a hat.
Be warned- picking fruit is addicting and you will be spending a fortune before you know it! However, it is a lot of fun and you can never have 2 much fun!
